What are the esf tests for?

Created by esf, the tests allow everyone to progress step by step in their practice of snow sports.

On the basis of precise technical criteria, our esf instructors validate your child's technical level, their achievements and the points to improve in the practice of snowboarding.

Children's Snowboard tests

Goomie Rider

To become a Goomie Rider, your child will need to know how to make turns including: direct line crossing finished by a rounding, frontside and backside turn.

The will need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • Autonomy: Use the lifts in a protected environment.
  • Fakie/Switch: You're riding in your least comfortable position. The term comes from skateboarding where you can easily change your stance, standing near the tail or nose of the board.
  • Basic attitude: Make 1 direct line with a flat board with vertical movements.

Rookie Rider

Turns: Knit together 4 to 6 turns.

The will need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • Fakie/Switch: Perform frontside and backside Switch, starting in the fall line.
  • Attitude de base: Slide on a box in 50/50.
  • Flat : Perform dead leaves uncovered on the frontside and backside on a medium slope.

Izzy Rider

To become an Izzy Rider, your child will need to know how to make turns including:
  • Turns: String together 4 to 6 turns in a materialised course (plots 20 meters apart each).
  • Basic Attitude: Perform a voluntary jump interspersed with phases of flat board gliding on a gentle slope.
  • Flat/Fakie/Switch: Perform a 180 ° sliding crossing (front or cab).
