What are the esf tests for?

Created by esf, the tests allow everyone to progress step by step in their practice of snow sports.

On the basis of precise technical criteria, our esf instructors validate your technical level or that of your child, the achievements and the points to improve in the practice of snowboarding.

Teen and Adult Snowboard tests

Discovery

To obtain the Discovery Snowboard, you must know how to make turns: - Knit together 4 to 6 discovery turns.

You need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • Fakie/Switch: Perform frontside and backside fakie/switch discovery rounds starting in the fall line
  • Basic Attitude: Slide on a box in 50/50.
  • Flat : Make dead leaves uncovered on the frontside and backside.

1st Snowboard

To obtain the 1st Snowboard level, you must know how to make turns: Knit together 4 to 6 elementary turns in a materialised course (blocks spaced 20 meters each).

You need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • Fakie/Switch: Knit together 4 to 6 fakie discovery turns.
  • Basic Attitude: Perform a small jump on a module with takeoff and landing with a flat board.
  • Flat : String together two 180 ° front and cab slides interspersed with a backside turn.

2nd Snowboard

To obtain the 2nd Snowboard Level, you must know how to make turns: Knit together basic turns with small radius on medium slope.

You need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • Fakie/Switch : Knit together 6 to 8 elementary fakie turns in a materialised course.
  • Flat : String together two 180 ° skipped front rotation and crossing cab interspersed with a bend.
  • Freestyle : Perform a tail press on a box.

3rd Snowboard

To get the 3rd Snowboard, you need to know how to make turns: String together perfect turns large and small radii on groomed snow.

You need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • Basic Attitude : Maintain a nose slide or tail slide on the snow.
  • Flat : Knit together two 180 ° jumps back and switch crossing interspersed with a frontside turn.
  • Freestyle : Perform a grab on a medium table (4 to 6 metres) while being balanced in the air.

Snowboard Expert

To obtain the Snowboard Expert, you must know how to make turns: Perform a free descent in all snow / all terrain combining speed, trajectories, style and efficiency.

You need to master 2 tests among the 3 offered:
  • X-Boarder : Get the vermeil X-Boarder.
  • Flat : Knit together at least 4 different flat manoeuvres during an evolution.
  • Freestyle : Slide on a boardslide box and perform a 360 ° on a medium table (4 to 6 meters).
